The faculty:

Sophie Sharp

Sophie’s love for dance started from an early age. She started dancing at her local bbodance school at age three. During my time there Sophie was part of bbodance Scholars for over seven years and a London Studio Saturday Associate, allowing her to train in London regularly. At the age of 18 she decided to continue to pursue her passion and completed a three-year course in Dance and Musical Theatre at Bodywork Company. Alongside this Sophie also completed my teaching qualifications with bbodance and a BA in ‘Professional Practices Arts and the Creative Industries.’ Sophie has been part of the faculty at bbodance for several years teaching Musical Theatre CPD, Junior Dance Days and collaborating on the Musical Theatre syllabi.

“It is a joy as a teacher to see students explore their creativity, build their confidence, and embrace this captivating art form that inspires so many.'

Rachel Baddeley

Rachel began her dance training at the age of three studying ballet, tap and jazz at her nana’s dance school, Market Drayton School of Dance. When her mum opened Wolstanton Dance Academy in the early 2000s Rachel was able to continue my training whilst also developing a love for a variety of new dance techniques, including Modern, Irish, Contemporary and Musical Theatre. This early grounding would afford her the opportunity to audition and later become a bbodance Ballet and Jazz Scholar. At nineteen Rachel moved to London to begin her training at London Studio Centre, graduating in 2018 with a First-Class Hons degree in Musical Theatre Dance (Jazz Dance). After two years of study, she completed the bbodance Level 6 Extended teaching qualification with a Distinction in June 2020. In most recent years Rachel was asked to become a member of the teaching faculty for bbodance delivering CPD for Grade 6 and 7 ballet, assisting in the filming of the Pre-Primary Musical Theatre Syllabus, teaching at the Half Term bbodance Masterclasses and the Junior Dance Days.

“I consider myself extremely fortunate and privileged to be working alongside such exceptional practitioners of dance in my everyday life. I feel especially proud to be the third generation of my family teaching in affiliation with bbodance.”
