The Reflective Dance Teacher - Tools and Strategies for Growth

This interactive workshop will equip dance teachers with the tools and strategies to cultivate reflective practice in both themselves and their students. Through a blend of theory, discussion, and scenario-based learning, participants will explore:

• The core principles of reflective practice, understanding its importance in fostering growth, self-awareness, and professional development.

• Creating reflective learners: techniques to encourage students to analyse their own progress, set goals, and take ownership of their dance journey.

• Building strong partnerships with parents to support student learning and address concerns constructively.

• Applying reflective practice principles to common challenges faced by dance teachers.

  
  

Learning Outcomes:

Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

• Define reflective practice and articulate its benefits.

• Implement strategies to promote reflection in their own teaching.

• Guide students to become reflective and responsible learners.
