About the event

Working well with the whole team is at the heart of a good dance practice. But how do you meet your legal obligations, manage business needs, and treat everyone fairly?

This session will cover the basics of contracting people:

- Just what is a contract? How are they made, changed and ended?

- What is employment status and how can you make sure everyone is contracted correctly?

- How do you meet your obligations to the people you engage, and what can you ask of people?

Legal obligations are just the start of working well. Managing conflict and disagreement is just as essential. The session will cover managing effectively and working with your staff to get the best out of everyone.

This webinar will be run by Fred Jerrome from the Independent Theatre Council.

After working for trade unions and local government, Fred Jerrome completed a law conversion and masters in legal practice, with a focus on employment law. He now works for the Independent Theatre Council, advising small-scale arts organisations on legal matters. He also leads ITC's bargaining with the sector trade unions, negotiating rates of pay and model contracts.

This webinar will be worth 2 hours of CPD points.
