We're very sad to hear of the passing of Poppy Harris, Assistant to the Melanie Holley School of Dance.
Poppy passed away recently at the age of 29, having suffered from metastatic cancer. She had already fought and survived childhood cancer at the age of 8 months.
Poppy refused to be defined by the limitations she had as a result of treatment when she was very young and poured all of her passion into dance. She took great pride and pleasure in her bbodance Performance Awards which allowed her to work through the grades as she grew up.
A loyal bbodance supporter, Poppy became the Dance School Assistant of her mother, Melanie, during the past 10 years. We know a great many of our members and Examiners will have fond memories of her in the studio with her Mum.
Despite the rigorous treatments she endured over the past couple of years, she never missed a single dance class, because she enjoyed it with all her heart.
A truly inspirational person. Our deepest condolences to her family, teachers, and loved ones. She will be missed by her bbodance family.
