Dance Days '19 is gearing up to be quite special!
New this year, we're introducing Dance Days Challenge, a group competition that all students can enter. The challenge celebrates what students have learned at their dance school and helps them show what bbodance means to them.
All attendees are encouraged to enter. The challenge is not compulsory and there is no fee.
In order to enter, the teacher of each school must choreograph an original performance piece for all of his or her students who are attending Dance Days. Costumes, make-up, and props are not required, but schools can use them if they choose to.
Each group can have between one and up to 20 students taking part in it, and the dance piece should be between two and four minutes long. It can be in any genre, with music provided by the school. Each participating school can present one piece only.
What happens at Dance Days
You'll have time to rehearse your piece on Monday 15 April, and you'll perform it the next day in the Elmhurst Theatre. Performances will be judged by our Distinguished Guest, a very important person in the world of dance whom you'll certainly know. The winning group will receive a bbodance shield engraved with the school's name, which they can keep until next year's Dance Days Challenge, as well as prizes for each student.
The winning performance piece will also be presented during this year's Performance & Awards Ceremony in front of parents, guardians, and Guests of Honour.
Entries for the 2019 Dance Days Challenge have now closed. Thank you to everyone who submitted the form! We look forward to watching you perform on the big day.
