Attention students & teachers: our Patron and former Scholar, Brandon Lawrence is coordinating an online choreographic challenge, and you are invited to take part!
This challenge is open to all students that are currently taking classes with bbodance Registered Teachers and Associate Members. If your classes have stopped for the duration of the lockdown, don't worry — you can still enter the challenge.
Students of all ages, abilities, and genres are welcome. The only limit is your creativity.
To take part in Brandon's challenge, choose one of the three pieces of music linked below and fill in the registration form. The music has been commissioned by Brandon specifically for this project; no one has ever choreographed to it before. The only charge to enter the challenge is an admin fee of £5.
After registering, you have until Friday, 3 July, to WeTransfer a video of yourself performing your original choreography to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Please film the video in landscape mode. The theme of this dance, regardless of the music you choose, is your experience during the current lockdown.
Please be mindful of your safety while choreographing your entry. This challenge is about creativity rather than pushing the boundaries of your body.
As long as you enter the challenge, whatever you submit, you will have won. Brandon will watch all submissions and select a clip from each; these will be edited together for a montage featuring the entire score. If you enter the challenge, you will be in that video.
In addition, there will also be one winner of the challenge for each piece of music, and there will be prizes too.
These winners will be announced on Monday, 14 July.
