We are delighted to welcome Garry Clarke M.A. (Dist.) QTLS RT bbodance as our new Chief Examiner.

Garry is a teacher, lecturer and researcher. Having had a successful career working internationally as a professional dancer, he chose to move into dance education and currently teaches and lectures at Preston's College Dance and Shockout Arts in Manchester, delivering and leading vocational training, teacher training, and Higher Education programmes.

Garry has been the lead developer of our Musical Theatre syllabi since 2016, creating syllabus content and delivering CPD sessions. He also became an Examiner for bbodance in 2017, conducting Examinations in Ballet, Musical Theatre, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Musical Theatre and Contemporary. Furthermore, Garry has taught across the private, state-maintained, and vocational sectors for several large and prestigious institutions.

Garry is an experienced dance teacher and dedicated to his own professional development, demonstrated by his completion of a Masters in Dance Technique Pedagogy at Middlesex University. He was also selected for the One Dance UK Teacher Leadership Mentor programme and has written articles for One Dance UK. Garry is a graduate of the bbodance Dance Teaching Qualifications (TQ) programme.

The role of Chief Examiner is to support the aims and objectives of bbodance, ensure that bbodance maintains compliance with Regulators Conditions of Recognition, and contribute to upholding and developing professional standards through ongoing Examiner training.
