bbodance is dedicated to the development of dance teaching professionals by building a supportive and creative learning environment.
Our Dance Teaching Qualifications programme offers Diplomas in Dance Teaching for Levels 4, 5, and 6, as well as a Graduate Pathway through the Levels. To support our students during COVID-19, between September and December 2020, our courses will be entirely online in terms of delivery and assessment.
Our courses are not specific to syllabi, but students have free online access to all our written and video resources if they wish to learn about them. Our courses are part-time and payment plans and discounts are available. Previous learning is recognised and professional dancers are considered for exemptions.
Each course module is delivered by an experienced industry professional and designed to equip students with knowledge and skills in key areas such as pedagogy, dance science, safeguarding, business development, creative teaching techniques, and more. Modules are also designed to enable the development of students’ teaching portfolios. Throughout the course, students are supported via personal tutors and by the Head of Teaching Qualifications, Sam Le Bihan, to reach their full potential.
Students receive free Associate Membership with bbodance for the duration of their course and a 90% discount on all Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses.
Upon completion, Level 5 graduates are additionally awarded Registered Teacher Status (RTS) with bbodance and Level 6 graduates are eligible to apply for Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status. After graduation, bbodance supports its qualified teachers with a diverse range of CPD courses and opportunities for their students.
bbodance is an awarding organisation recognised by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual). Our courses are listed on the Ofqual Regulatory IT System (RITS), and all bbodance Teaching Qualifications are on the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).
